I am a 35 year old language and travel enthusiast who would like to share her experience with like-minded people! I have lived in several countries from Europe over Latin America, the Middle East to India, and speak 6 languages to varying degrees. I recently married a Chilean and we live together in Berlin with a big group of friends from different countries. I have extensive knowledge about languages and how to teach them from a technical and practical viewpoint: I have studied French Linguistics at University and did a semester abroad at the Sciences Po Bordeaux and in Madagascar. While not fluent, i have learned Russian, Arabic and Spanish and have lived shorter times in Moscow, Santiago de Chile as well as the Palestinian Territories, Syria and Iraq. In my previous work I have taught German to in-person classes of mostly Arabic and Afghan refugees, and I've led tutoring groups with several young internationals here in Berlin. Recently, I mostly practice German with my Chilean husband. :) I like to find out what everybody's learning style is and then work with that. Do you get really annoyed by grammar rules and prefer to just jump into the language? No problem, we can do a lot of immersion and improvised conversations! Are you easily embarrassed of making mistakes? All good, we can go over all the basics until you feel confident enough to speak freely!
