Certified native English speaker from Canada with 5+ years of experience (PhD Candidate) Hello, I'm Emily from Ottawa, Canada, and I have been teaching English since 2019. I have a TEFL/TESOL certificate from the UK, a Master's degree from Norway in Human Rights, another Master's from Belgium in Cultural Studies and an Honours BA in Visual Arts and Psychology from Canada. I adore chatting with and meeting new people from all over the world, getting to know their culture, hobbies, beliefs and anything human about them is fantastic. I love teaching all learners, putting that smile on their face and sharing knowledge with them is truly a blessing to me. I'm friendly, yet structured. I enjoy beginning the classes by breaking the ice with small chat, then introducing new vocabulary and finally, going into the lesson content, whether it's through reading passages, having a debate, or learning more facts. My teaching style truly depends on my students, their ages, interests, goals, etc. I enjoy personalizing my lessons to the greatest extent to ensure my students are truly learning the content.
