It might appear that I chose to learn with Amir because we have the first name, but the real reason was that he used his introduction video to actually teach the viewer a few words. He is an intelligent person and a polyglot who knows how learning a language works. Since the first lesson Amir spoke and I – with my limited knowledge – understood everything, even the words I didn’t know yet! He is a warm and positive person, which is why his motivational approach comes off as honest. Amir stays professional, yet seems to be enjoying teaching. He is relentless in writing pages and pages of words for the student as we speak, during which there is never a moment one would think he is not listening. If you need him to be methodical, he is; if you once in a while want to just talk, you will still leave with a lot. In conclusion I can say Amir is a great teacher who is making the world a nicer place, one italki lesson at a time. Don’t book up all his hours though; leave me an hour a week. ;)

Excellent lesson! In the process of working on my conversation skills I learn the most practical vocabulary, which is so helpful with getting concepts to stick.
