I'm Larysa a native Ukrainian speaker and a university professor of Ukrainian and Russian with over 40 years of teaching experience. I hold a PhD in Pedagogic Sciences, but what really brings me to every lesson is simpler than that: I love this language, I love teaching, and I love the moment a student suddenly says something in Ukrainian and realises "I can actually do this." I work with adults of every level, from absolute beginners to advanced speakers. I'm especially happy to teach heritage learners returning to the language of their family, and students who want to understand Ukraine more deeply its literature, history, everyday life and humour. My approach is warm, patient and personal. I don't follow a fixed textbook every lesson is built around you: your level, your goals, your interests and your pace. We start speaking Ukrainian from the very first lesson, with simple and useful phrases. Grammar comes in gently, only when it becomes truly useful. There is room for mistakes, laughter and real conversation in every lesson. Over my career I have co-authored 6 textbooks of Ukrainian as a foreign language, developed 6 online courses and led a Foreign Citizens Training Centre at a Ukrainian university, preparing students from many countries to live, study and work in Ukrainian.
