I was born and grew up in Gifu prefecture in Japan, but I am living in US for 20+ years. Currently I am living in New York. I like to teach Japanese but at the same time, I like to learn other languages too. Currently I am learning French.Me as a Teacher
I regularly teach Japanese by doing the language exchange with other language learners on italki. By teaching, I realize that Japanese is very unique language, and I found teaching the language is more and more interesting. I would like to help more people interested in the language by being a teacher here on italki.My lessons & teaching style
In my lesson, I would like to focus more on conversation. I am a language learner by myself, and I feel more enjoyable when I can communicate with the language. Japanese is not the easy language, but I would like to help other people feel the same enjoyment.5.0

Nami sensei quickly adapted to my level of Japanese and she made me feel a lot more competent than I am! I felt comfortable being wrong and she gave me suggestions and new vocabulary from the jump. I had a feeling about this instructor when I was searching around and I’m glad I trusted my gut. She’s easy to talk to, straight forward and patient. If you’re considering, definitely try her out!

It's been a while since I had classes with Nami, and honestly, I hadn't practised Japanese since then. But she made me feel calm. I was so nervous to continue studying Japanese again, and now, after the class, I just feel amazing and am looking forward to our next class. Thank you so much!

I had so much fun with Nami-sensei! She was well spoken, friendly, and even had activities for us to do. She also had the best patience with me. I cannot wait for our next meeting/class. She honestly was the best.
