Learn critical thinking in English through advanced reading and listening comprehension activities Hi, my name is Wenwei. I first worked with ESL learners when I was a writing tutor, which exposed me to second language acquisition. I focus on the communicative aspects of the language and evaluate your ability to have a conversation—oral comprehension & appropriate engagement. My approach is collaborative & effective because I work with you and learn through you during our lessons. I ask questions related to the content of the lessons and I’m attentive to your responses, all to help you clarify what you intend to communicate. Asking questions allows me to address your needs and helps you develop an idea or argument. My teaching style is collaborative and therefore relies heavily on open communication between both parties and a willingness on your part to prepare before lessons. I do not spend a lot of time simply “feeding” you course material; rather, we spend time applying concepts through conversation or interactive in-class activities. If you require a hands-on approach, I’d recommend studying with a teacher who is specifically trained and equipped to offer explicit instruction and a course syllabus.
