Hello! I’m Lauren, a certified TEFL teacher with 10+ years of experience helping students (ages 3–65!) master English. Based in Colorado, I blend my love for culture, art, and nature into dynamic lessons. Fluent in Spanish and conversational Chinese, I understand language-learning challenges firsthand. Whether you’re preparing for interviews, exploring American humor, or just starting out, let’s make learning fun and stress-free—because laughter is the best grammar rule! I have been teaching English for over 10 years now. I have taught students from age 3- 65 years old. I believe that anyone no matter how young or old can learn a language if they find the correct method and teacher for them. I like to provide a relaxed teaching environment. If we are relaxed and having fun learning, retaining information will come. I love to laugh so be prepared to have a good time in my class! For new English learners I feel that starting with the past tense is helpful. We are constantly talking about what happened in the past. Using pictures and physical response also helps to solidify concepts in our mind. It is important to engage all the senses when learning and I believe this includes sense of humor! For intermediate to advanced speakers I like to select relevant topics from the news media and/or of interest to the student.
