I am a native Slovak and a long-term community lecturer. My name is Mária and I come from Slovakia. But in fact I was born in Czechoslovakia and I still feel more like a Czechoslovak. I grew up reading Czech books and watching Czech films, so I consider Czech as my second native language. If you are interested in the Slovak language or in the Czech language, I am here for you. I have been fascinated by learning foreign languages since my childhood. I like the opportunity to communicate with people from all over the world. So I can very well understand other people's similar feelings. That's why I decided to work for Italki as a Slovak and a Czech lecturer. I am ready to help everyone who wants to learn these languages. First of all, you must know that I am not a professional teacher. However, I am a calm and patient person with a sense of humor. And I am a lover of all foreign languages. I can understand you in English, German, Polish, Ukrainian and Russian. Nevertheless, I usually prefer the English language in my classes. I am able to explain to you the basic rules of Slovak or Czech grammar and go over Slovak and Czech vocabulary and teach you the correct pronunciation. I can talk to you about Slovak or Czech history, culture and everyday life or prepare special conversation topics according to your wishes especially for you. Great lesson. Good vocabulary input and mistake correction. Marika has selected perfect materials for my level: the text we are studying is challenging, but not discouraging. When I understand advanced words that I didn't know a month ago, it becomes clear to me that our lessons are bearing fruit.
