Hey, I am Linus, 28 years old and I love languages. I was born in Berlin and thus my native language is German. I also speak English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Esperanto.
Over the past 8 years, I've invested a lot of time into learning languages and met many magnificent people on the way, who I taught and who taught me. Especially over the last few years I've developed many different methods with my students and changed my teaching style quite a bit as a result of trying out new things and adapting to the ideas and suggestions of my students.
Me as a Teacher
After trying out a great deal of methods and approaches as far as language learning, I started teaching on italki 5 years ago to pass on what I've learned through a lot of experimenting and language immersion.
I have now lived in many different countries and each time immersed myself in the language and while this is a good approach, it is not enough on its own and its not a possibility for everyone. However, speaking to native people using video calls is possible for anyone. That's why I am happy to teach my native language on italki and pass on my knowledge.
My lessons & teaching style
Lessons will be customized individually. Depending on the students preferences, we will practice writing, reading, speaking, comprehension, grammar and much more. Most importantly, lessons will be fun while at the same time challenging. I am open to suggestions and wishes from students but can provide step by step instructions and lessons for students who need more guidance.

Linus was very thorough and a pleasure to have a lesson with. He also provided helpful documents that you can refer back to after the lesson which I find very useful. It was a great first meeting and I look forward to the coming lessons!

Linus keeps the conversation going for the whole lesson. He is very patient with all my mistakes and corrects them in an encouraging way. I enjoy the conversation with him and I am learning new vocabulary and grammar all the time. I look forward to next week's lesson.

Very interesting lesson, I like that Linus can adjust to student's needs. Notes after lessons are very structured and easy to use.
Thank you Linus and see you soon!

This was a trial lessen, where we discussed my goals and ways to achieve them. I felt very comfortable and confident with Linus' teaching method, and subsequently bought a package of 10 lessons. We plan to work on my pronunciation of German by me reading aloud some short stories. At the conclusion of the lesson, I said "Bis später", which translates to "See you later". Linus pointed out that I should use "Bis bald" (See you soon), explaining that "later" is reserved for later that day. That simple correction reinforced my gut feeling about continuing with Linus. I appreciate learning the nuances of the language.

We went straight into a conversation in German but Linus did it at a level that I could understand. My confidence began to grow immediately. Sometimes I went to English and Linus helped me to turn what I said into German so that I kept on learning. It was a really great lesson and I look forward to the next one.
