Filippo is the most experienced and dedicated teacher I have met on italki. He puts a lot of thought into designing the course, making sure there is a suitable amount of material to look at and think about each time (for my curriculum, one movie at a time)—and in this way I feel that the class time becomes two or third times more productive than usual. The conversation is always warm and stimulating, and I feel at ease and motivated to formulate my thoughts and use complex sentences slightly above my level. Filippo is also extremely knowledgeable about italian cinema, and each film I watch is tailored to my own interests and needs. I find it hard to imagine a more dedicated, supportive, and effective teacher than Filippo. I understand why his slots are always booked—He is a rare find on italki!

Filippo is an excellent and engaging tutor. His method of watching and then discussing a film is a perfect method for improving your Italian and your knowledge of Italy. The films are enjoyable so even though you are preparing for a lesson it never seems like homework. He is extremely knowledgable about films so it is interesting to hear his opinion of the film you have just watched. I have enjoyed our lessons immensely and would not hesitate to recommend him and if you are interested in films I do not think you could find a better Italian tutor on the site.
