Ben Tall TOEFL Freak

Thanks, Ben! I can feel the progress I've made over the past five classes — my ideas are more logical, I feel more confident, and I make fewer mistakes. I’m really lucky to have had the chance to learn from you.

Ben helped me prepare for TOEFL a few years ago and I ended up with a 28 in speaking and 28 in writing after applying his tips and templates. I just recently prepared for Duolingo with him for a completely different requirement and got a 135 overall score too using similar exam prep strategies that were just as effective on the production and conversion subscores.

Ben put in a lot of effort before the class by reviewing my speaking records in advance. During the session, he gave me detailed and constructive feedback on my pronunciation, intonation, false starts, repetitions, fillers, and grammar. What I appreciated most was that he organized his suggestions into a well-structured PDF, which makes it easier for me to review and improve later. I also learned how to be more logical when answering TOEFL questions—something I hadn’t considered before. He emphasized the importance of using transition words to make my ideas clearer and more organized in both listening and speaking. I believe this is extremely important if I want to achieve a higher score.

after attending Ben's speaking and writing classes, I achieved my target TOEFL score of 111! In 2 weeks , my speaking improved from 22 to 26, and writing from 25 to 27. Before this class, I struggled to complete Writing Task 2 within 10 minutes. Thanks to this lesson, I’ve now found a helpful strategy, and I’ll keep practicing it until I can use it effectively in the real TOEFL exam.
