I am a Modern & Ancient Greek Language teacher from Thessaloniki, Greece. I hold a B.A. in Greek Language and Literature (specilization: Classics) from the University of Ioannina, Greece, and an M.A. in Historical Linguistics (with an emphasis on the Greek language) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
During my studies I carried out three internships teaching Modern Greek:
1) at Jean Jaurès University of Toulouse, France (March 2020)
2) at the Hellenic Foundation for Culture in Bucharest, Romania (February-May 2017)
3) at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (March-April 2015)
For the last 7 years I have been teaching Modern, Biblical and Ancient Greek online or in person.Me as a Teacher
I enjoy interacting with students of any age, because I strongly believe that the teaching process benefits both the learner and the teacher. I always maintain a pleasant atmosphere and I never forget to smile. I understand that learning sometimes can be hard or frustrating, but we can remember each time why we are learning something and thus we can trigger our curiosity or passion about it. I adjust my lessons based on the needs of my students.My lessons & teaching style
In general, I follow the communicative and genre approaches in foreign language teaching. I always use a reliable teaching book and I also create my own teaching material. In my typical M. Greek class my student and I read dialogues together, I explain everything and I give some homework. If an intermediate student wants to practice their conversational skills, I develop conversations using a book with pictures and vocabulary.
With respect to Ancient Greek, my class focuses on grammar (pronunciation, morphology, syntax) and reading comprehension. We can also discuss about historical linguistics and the history of the Greek language.My teaching material

Bachelor’s - Greek Language and Literature (specialisation: Classics)In Greece the term "philology" (φιλολογία) is used in a very general way: it means the science of literature. My University School is called "Department of Philology" (Τμήμα Φιλολογίας) and, like every similar department in the country, it mostly offers courses in both Ancient and Modern Greek. I also took some courses in Byzantine Greek, Latin, Modern Greek Linguistics and Pedagogy. In Greece with this diploma I have the right to teach both Ancient and Modern Greek.

Modern Greek Language teaher (trainee)From February to May 2017 I taught Modern Greek to Romanian adults and I also acted as an examiner in the oral modules for the Greek Language certification (May 16-17 2017).
2020 - 2020
Modern Greek Language teacher (trainee)During my prostgraduate studies I went to Toulouse as an Erasmus trainee. I taught Modern Greek to French adults for almost a month (March 2020).

Pantazi is a great teacher, always in a good mood and happy to help with all the issues that occur during the progress of learning a language. I have been learning with Pantazi for over 6 months now and wouldn't want to have a different teacher. Highly recommended for one that wants to dive into the Greek language!

Honestly one of the best! I’ve had more than 20 lessons with him and I always look forward to lessons. He is patient, understanding and very good at what he does. It is difficult to find good teacher, with Greek I hit the jackpot with Pantazis.
