Educator with nearly a decade of teaching and tutoring experience Who I am: Hi! My name is Cameron, and I am an English Community Tutor. I am originally from the United States, but came to Japan back in 2021 and have lived here ever since. Every day is an opportunity to learn, to grow, to share, so please join me. We can learn from each other! My education: - Bachelor of Arts degree in English - Associate of Science degree in English Education *I am currently enrolled in a master’s program, because I believe in the importance of continuing one’s education!* My most recent teaching experience: - Five years as an ALT on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program. - I taught students debate and argumentative essay writing, among other things. I currently offer lessons in: - Argumentative Essay Writing I worked for five years at a top high school in Japan, perfecting my approach to teaching writing, to better assist students to enter top universities. My approach is methodical and designed to teach students step-by-step how to write a basic argumentative essay that can easily be adjusted and expanded for more complex writing. Other teaching experience: - English tutor from 2017 to 2020 and English teacher from 2020 to 2021 in America More about me: I have helped students build skills in English conversation, reading comprehension, translation, and essay writing. My current focus, though, is on helping students to learn to write stronger and more clearly. (I will work to make conversation and reading lessons in the future.)
