Hello! My name is Leilani, and I am an English teacher with a background in journalism. I’m originally from Hawaii, and have lived in Spain, Finland, Mexico and Japan. I have a certificate in TEFL, and have completed various teaching seminars.

Me as a Teacher

I am passionate about language teaching as a way to support people to reach their potential as individuals and within their communities. I have experience tutoring adults in preparation for job interviews, business meetings and the U.S. Citizenship Interview. As someone who has lived and worked abroad, I have felt the impact learning a language can have on our everyday lives, from finding employment to conversations at public offices or with neighbors.

My lessons & teaching style

I am flexible with my lesson and teaching style. I believe that it's more important to facilitate a positive environment with clear objectives, and where students are free to ask questions and take part in choosing topics and style of their learning.
