About Me

I am a Business and Economics graduate with a passion for languages and accents. I have lived in Argentina, Spain and Italy. I try to be well-informed about current events around the globe, and I love talking about politics and economics. In an era of globalization, being conscious about what happens in other countries and about how problem-solving strategies varies across cultures is an important asset to understand our society better. Dostoievesky, and Camus favorite authors, literature interests me as well as philosophy and art. I am quite ignorant on cinematography, but you have the power to change that ;)

Me as a Teacher

I am very outgoing and patient, and I believe that to learn a language effectively, it is important to have a strategy with clear goals. I’m here to help you mainly with your speaking skills, which, contrary to popular belief, is not just about speaking about random topics until you get better. It is also about starting from topics which you are passionate about and slowly getting out of your comfort zone to widen the conversation topics. I believe in the importance of the culture of feedback, so you will have a dedicated space to tell me what you think is working and what you think I could improve as a teacher: being in the same page is extremely important! I’m here to help YOU :)

My lessons & teaching style

I like to dedicate the first class to understanding the student goals in order for me to accurately choose the sources and the method of teaching. The discussion of newspaper articles is common practice in my lessons, as well as student presentations (why don’t we freshen up your public speaking skills a bit eh?). Depending on your interest, we can also do specific lessons on pronunciation and country-specific culture. After every class, I will dedicate the last 5 minutes to give you a sum-up of the main take-aways of the lesson and areas of improvement.

I highly recommend Tomás as a teacher as he is really easy to talk to and managed to help me understand the grammar a bit better. Also I really liked that he sent me an article beforehand which we discussed during our lesson. I think this approach is just perfect for me because it forces me to get out of my comfort zone and talk about more challenging topics. Already looking forward to the next lesson!
