I'm an experienced TESOL certified English teacher and I'm currently teaching on Italki full time. I enjoy it and I'm not planning to stop. I have worked with students of all ages while focusing on different objectives. I've helped them prepare for IELTS and other official English exams and achieve desired scores. My background is in IT and I have worked as a software engineer and programmer/developer in Canadian business environment for many years. Many of my students are business professionals, IT engineers predominantly, as I understand both business and technical terminology. I speak fluent Spanish and decent Portuguese which might be helpful to Spanish or Portuguese speaking students.Me as a Teacher

I listen to my students as their requirements and needs are the most important to me. I prepare for each class carefully based on collected information. My classes can be focused on conversation, slang expressions, specific grammar topic, interview practice, or exam preparation. Talking about my teaching technique, as every student is different, every English class with me is different as well. Which teaching methodology is used will depend largely on you and your needs. I use improvisations and lively discussions about various topics. Humour is part of my classes as I want you to have fun as you learn. My teaching approach incorporates using natural language acquisition methods and teaching culture differences that goes along with teaching the language.My teaching material

Awesome class! Steve has an incredible gift for teaching. He can identify exactly what do you need to adjust to have a better English. He is always taking notes to not interrupt you and correct your mistakes after you finish the sentence, in this way, the conversation flows much better. I was already an intermediate/advanced student, but I learned something from every class, plus had a lot of fun doing it!
