Hi everyone, my name is Abdulrahman, Abdo عبده for short. I'm from Giza, Egypt, home of the pyramids.
I like to talk a lot about culture, traditions and how people live in different parts of the world, so I like to learn about habits, social practices, and the languages of different countries. In exchange I'll talk to you about the Egyptian and Arab society, our traditions and social norms.
I used to be a pharmacist before I discovered my passion for teaching and having culture exchange with people from different places. I'm very interested in scientific topics, so I'll be very helpful in translating complex scientific terms and illustrating the context of their usage.

Me as a Teacher
I have been tutoring Egyptian Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic based on English since 2017, teaching students at all language levels from A1 to C2 and of all ages. I like talking about a wide range of topics; from simple everyday small talk to complex heated topics. No taboos as long as the conversation is respectful.
My schedule is very flexible and rotating. This means every two weeks you'll find at least one perfect lesson-time, but usually more than that. If you prefer fixed time each week, please book several lessons at your preferred time in advance and I'll adapt to it. Of course in case you can't find a suitable time soon enough, you can contact me and we'll work it out together.
My lessons & teaching style
In my experience, I learnt that different personalities and different levels of language learning demand different teaching styles, so I use many teaching methods to suit each one. Whether you prefer conversational practice, talking or listening more, learning from a book, or systematic learning about the rules and vocabulary; I've tried all of these with many students successfully.
Normally, we start each lesson discussing a general topic, or an aspect of the language, then we go deeper into it, or branch off to a related topic as the conversation flows. I'm flexible to adjust my way to meet your desired approach of learning.
Looking forward to having classes with you very soon!

It's always a great pleasure to study with Abdo. He makes all difficulties easy to understand, in a very knowledgeable way, and he transforms all the hard work in intellectual play.

Abdo is very kind and he encourages you to speak Arabic during the lesson. He is very patient, and he writes down many phrases and words for the student to better understand how to pronounce them and also remember them later. He also gives information about Arab culture and differences between MSA and dialects when necessary, which makes the lesson very interesting.
Thank you Abdo! Happy New Year :)
