It was my first class in Serbian. The teacher simply offered to translate the phrases I was interested in, while going into her personal relationship to subjects of those questions instead of translating them. No grammar, no introductions, nothing. Google Translator is even more helpful.

I'm sorry to say that my goal of practicing conversation was not achieved in the lesson. I had made it clear at the start of the lesson that this was my primary objective. Despite this, the first half of the lesson Natasa speaking in Russian, which was difficult for me to understand as a native Russian speaker. The second half of the lesson was in Serbian, which may have been too fast for me, but the main issue was that it was again a monologue rather than a conversation. My Serbian is very poor, and it takes me a lot of time to find words and construct sentences. I need teacher to push me to speak and offer help. A monologues of all kinds I can easily find for free on podcast.rs.
