Hi, my name is Doug. I’m an American from Chicago in the United States. I love getting to know new people from different cultures. That is my favorite part about teaching English to people. That’s why I love teaching English to people from countries all over the world. I have many hobbies. Travel is probably my favorite thing to do. I love hearing about where other people have traveled, as well as their other hobbies. I also love movies and exercise.Me as a Teacher
I have nearly 10 years of experience teaching English, as well as significant experience with non-English speakers in general. I taught English in the USA for one year, Spain for one year, and now in Colombia since 2016. I am also certified by Cambridge University to teach English (CELTA).My lessons & teaching style
My classes on iTalki are focused on improving fluency and conversation skills. For this reason, my discussion-based classes are appropriate for learners of all levels of English.
My teaching strategy is to engage in discussions that make you think and speak about a variety of deep topics. Ultimately, you are studying English in order to form real relationships.
