Hello, world!
I am CHAKIR Taoufik from Morocco. I am a native speaker of Arabic and an almost native speaker of French and English (I have been learning and practicing French for +20 years and English for +15 years now). I am currently learning Spanish and a little bit of Chines :) I have enjoyed teaching and learning here on Italki since day one and I am planning to make it last...
Me as a Teacher
The way I see language learning is a bit philosophical but it also came from my personal experience after being both a student and a teacher for a while. I envision the process of language learning to be similar to the process of growing a tree; you need patience and take care of the plant on a regular basis to get a result that normally can not be pushed ahead of time...But you can always add-in some fertilizers (which are in my case a certain set of technics) to get improved results in terms of time and quality.My lessons & teaching style
Lessons: I prefer that you book packages to show commitment and also to get along with the nature of the process ( as I explained earlier: expect to practice on a regular basis ! ), I am very flexible and I don't have a problem canceling or reporting lessons... I can also use instant messaging apps like Whatsapp if you feel like learning and practicing on the go.
Let's talk technics: I am not a big fan of the Pimsleur method unless it's used with some other tools to remember the vocabulary you learned. For example, Anki flashcards. I prefer to rely on the spaced repetition system proposed by apps like Duolingo and Memrise.My teaching material

That was definitely not the best experience of mine on Italki. The teacher was literally sleeping throughout the lesson whilst yawning half of the time. Also even tho I warned the teacher that I do not have a good command of French and throughout the lesson I was constantly saying that I do not understand, the tutor kept speaking in ungraded French that was not clear to me, turning the lesson into a stream of his speech. I'm not setting the bar high and always open to some dogme-like speaking classes, yet this was not a class at all but a sheer torture
