Hello, my name is Anna. I teach Russian and Japanese on italki.
I was born and live in Moscow. I am a native Russian speaker and a certified teacher with more than 6 years of teaching experience.
I have always been passionate about learning languages, which is why I chose to major in Japanese and English at Moscow State Linguistic University, where I also took a course in Culture Studies and Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language.
After graduating I got JLPT N1 certificate in 2011, worked in Japanese companies and lived in Kyoto and Osaka for about 5 years.
In my free time I enjoy watching movies, reading, studying art, traveling and hiking.
Me as a Teacher
I always try to tailor the lessons to the student’s goals and interests in order to make the time in the classroom enjoyable and effective. I am happy to help you achieve your goals. We can focus on grammar, speaking skills and pronunciation, or on anything else you might want to improve. I believe language learning to be about communication, so I’d be happy to hear more about you and your interests.My lessons & teaching style
I usually start each lesson with a small warmup conversation, review and then we’ll move on to the main topic of the lesson. I provide a structured course, which includes speaking, listening, reading and writing, but we can focus on the aspects that you need the most. With beginners I use a lot of drills. This helps to build up confidence and to memorize new words. With intermediate and advanced learners I prefer having guided conversation on different topics.
For Japanese language, we will start with learning hiragana, katakana, then basic vocabulary and grammar for everyday conversations. We will also work on reading and writing kanji.My teaching material
