Learn and speak Turkish or Kurdish in a fun way with the most effective methods. >> My passion is learning and teaching languages. Since I started giving lessons, I’ve been trying to convey this passion to my students. Having written hundreds of articles in Turkish on many subjects (law, film criticism, book reviews...) and having my articles published in various journals gave me a strong command in all areas of Turkish. I also brought the (Kurmanji) Kurdish language to a very competent level by reading the books of authors (e.g. Mehmet Uzun) who wrote their works in this language. My experience and communication in the field also reflect on my teaching by making it easier to prepare additional educational materials, customized to the backgrounds or needs of my students. >> Hello /Silav /Merhaba. I'm Murat and I'm here to teach you my native languages, Turkish and (Kurmanji) Kurdish. I’m living in Ankara-TURKEY. I've taught people of all levels and ages over the years and I am very experienced with teenagers and adults. My first priority in teaching is always to improve a student's conversational skills. Being able to speak, improves motivation and vocabulary, makes it easier to learn grammar. While giving lessons to students, I teach idioms and proverbs to help them express themselves better, give clues about the culture and tradition of the language I teach (Turkish or Kurdish) . In addition, I must say that I can speak English fluently. >> When teaching languages, I usually find it helpful to use texts, short videos, stories and then talk about th...

Murat is the third Turkish tutor I've had lessons with, and he's the one I'm going to continue learning with. He's very professional and always prepared for the lesson. Every minute of the lesson I'm actually learning something new, yet at the same time Murat always makes sure I understand everything. The lessons are indeed varied and well-structured: there are discussions, role plays, videos to watch, texts to read, and grammar points to practise. It's not just endless chit-chat as I've experienced with other tutors, and Murat allows me to talk more than himself. Even though I'm at a low-intermediate level, I feel comfortable talking to him. After every lesson, I receive personalised notes with words and sentences from the lesson, so I can really see what I've learned. I can also honestly say that after every lesson, I'm already looking forward to the next one, because I know I'll have fun and learn new things at the same time. Murat is the perfect tutor that I've been looking for.

Another great lesson. The teacher had prepared several short texts and questions based on the texts. He had me read the text aloud first, correcting my pronunciation, and explaining new words. Then we had a discussion based on the text and questions he’d prepared. I must say, Murat is always well prepared for lessons. He always has a plan and plenty of materials. The lessons are very enjoyable and I think after only four lessons, I’m already starting to notice a difference in how comfortably I can speak.

Murat is a teacher who takes time to teach interesting new rules if you want to improve when you are already in a high level of Turkish. From turkish movie dialogues, we learn some native words idioms and expression that might turn my turkish sounds more native. We see also subtile but important difference and the using of tense and suffixes, to avoid to use always the same basic tense depending of the context. To exercice it, Murat creates many word games online that you can play after the lesson and has an importante ressource on computer. All the lessons are well summaries in a feedback on Word, with what have we seen and some link for more ressources. Very professional if you struggle to find some C1/C2 level lessons, have a try with Murat :-)

Murat is one of the best teachers I have encountered on italki (or anywhere else) in any language. He has developed his own lessons (no easy task for a language where teaching resources are scarce). He tailors each of his lessons (even his existing lessons) to the individual student. He uses texts and grammar explanations and examples for part of the lesson. He also uses on-line games for building vocabulary and internalizing language syntax and grammar (again tailored to the individual student). Finally, he uses videos (about different subjects or, e.g., Charlie Chaplin silent films) to foster discussion to build conversational skills. He knows English well, which is a plus when it comes to explaining certain grammar points and vocabulary, although he conducts his lessons as much as possible in Kurdish. Murat's lessons are fun and I look forward to them. Most importantly, I am very happy with the progress I am making in the language with Murat.

Murat is currently helping me to get more comfortable with using the turkish language. During the lessons he is covering new words and more accurate grammar that I have neglected in the past. After just a few lessons, I already feel much more comfortable with using the Turkish I already know. It has definitely been good for me to have someone to practice with. Much thanks for the lessons so far Murat!

6 Kurdish lessons
I had 6 Kurdish lessons with Murat up until now and I really enjoyed ever single one of it. I especially like about Murat as a teacher, that he is always focused on the lessons, his students and the topics he is discussing with them and that's the reason why I feel that we already made really good progress. Another thing that is really positive about Murat's lessons is the material he prepares for you. He takes the notes for you, prepares homework games and explains everything so that you can follow easily. I will definitely take more lessons with him to improve my Kurdish - it is just fun and his lessons are motivating me a lot :-). A wholehearted recommendation from my side!
