Ciya Manoj

Ciya has been my teacher from the beginning of my Malayalam journey. She taught me everything I know. She taught me how to read and write the script, understand basic vocabulary and grammar, and she has shared interesting aspects of Kerala's culture along the way. Even though learning a language is a long process, I am excited to see how far I have come.

Ciya is a great teacher and I am able to learn a lot from her. Her classes fit my learning needs and she is very motivating. Thank you so much Ciya!

Starting with no previous knowledge, I have now completed 100 sessions with Ciya. She also taught me the handwritten forms of the Malayalam script with a digital writing pad, something that is very important, yet few teachers of languages with a non-European writing system have done for me. Learning Malayalam requires time, and Ciya has always been very patient, friendly, and helpful with me. She also explains about Kerala culture and traditions. Regardless of your language level, I can warmly recommend studying with Ciya. She is one of the gems teaching here on iTalki.

What an amazing teacher! My review is as follows! -Teaching skill- Thorough. Ciya Chechi breaks down each word so you know what you are actually saying and how it would be rendered in English. -Timing- Time conscious. Ciya chechi made sure we could complete the lesson plan and have time for practice and review without rushing me or dragging. -Personality- Ciya chechi was super friendly and professional at the same time! I instantly felt comfortable! She is into you as a student and maintains professional balance! -Super skill- Some language teachers have a hard time teaching their mother tongue to a foreigner, because they cannot break down the thinking behind their language compared to the thinking in the students language.
