My Name is Jan. I am 36 years old. I come from Austria and live in France at the moment. In the winter I work mainly as a ski instructor and in the summer teaching German is my main activity. I like to do lots of sports like skiing, road- or mountain biking, yoga, hiking, surfing, climbing, ...
I also like to challenge myself by exploring new things. Therefore in the last couple of years I have for example picked up woodworking and gardening.
I am very patient with my students and believe, that positive feedback is the way to encourage people to learn. I will never get angry or impatient with you, because I realize how hard it is to learn a new language and the last thing you want, is to feel pressure while learning. Learning should be fun!
I am also trying to use the target language (German) as much as possible, always speaking slow enough and articulating myself correctly, so its easier for you to understand. However, if you have trouble to understand, I am also happy to explain things in English or French.
In my lessons I try to do a lot of unstructured conversation for a couple of reasons. First I think, that it is a lot like in real life, where you can not plan in which direction a conversation is going. Second it gives me a good idea of your strengths and weaknesses, which we can then discuss casually during our conversation or pick them up in a grammar lesson for the next time. Freue mich immer auf den Unterricht mit Jan. Wir haben an der Aussprache gearbeitet, was ziemlich mühsam sein kann, aber er hat sich sehr gut darauf vorbereitet. Dabei war er sehr geduldig und lustig. Bin extrem zufrieden mit dem Unterricht!
