I quit a 10-year career as a lawyer to become a language teacher, and I haven’t regretted it for a second.
At 29, I learned my first foreign language. By 30, I spoke two and was learning two more.
At 36, I started lifting, put together my own diet, and went from overweight to 13% body fat. Calisthenics, climbing, Muay Thai, BJJ, Chinese Pole, parkour. At 37, I deadlifted 265 lb — more than twice my bodyweight. Becoming mentally and physically strong changed my life.
At 38, I packed up and moved back to my hometown: São Paulo. I missed the sushi so bad.
There’s no such thing as too old, too shy, too weird, or not being cut out to learn. With grit and discipline, you can learn anything.
Me as a Teacher
My lessons are interactive and focused on you using the language, not me babbling.
I’m also a lifelong nerd: The Lord of the Rings, heavy metal, Poe, Vincent Price, Romero. Grew up on SNES, PS1, Age of Empires, Counter-Strike, and Worms. That mix of fantasy, horror, and gaming still drives my humor and teaching style today. My lessons & teaching style
My lessons adapt to each student: structured if you want precision, relaxed if you want conversation.
I work especially well with introverts, as I was once too shy to speak a sentence in English, so I know how to break hesitation and build confidence fast.
Cancellation Policy
Lessons can be canceled or rescheduled up to 24 hours in advance. After that, cancellations, no-shows, or arriving 15+ minutes late (without notice) will be charged and credits sent to the teacher.My teaching material

Nanda informed me in our lesson yesterday that we have now done 100 lessons together. Time flies! It is an indication of how good a teacher she is, and the positivity and creativity that she brings to her lessons, that I had no idea we had done so many - no two lessons have been the same, and they have all been lively and interesting. Nanda uses a variety of methods - videos, song lyrics, passages to translate, etc, etc, etc - so she can find a lesson format that will work for any student. Nanda is quite simply an excellent teacher, and I can't recommend her highly enough to anyone who wants to learn in a fun, relaxed way.

I started learning with Nanda 9 months ago, speaking almost no Portuguese and a bit nervous about online lessons. I can now have conversations with my Brazilian friends on a wide variety of topics, and understand all sorts of Portuguese movies and TV shows.
Nanda is excellent at explaining grammar, everyday speech and culture in an easy to understand, relaxed manner that doesn't feel like a classroom. She always comes prepared with engaging activities suited to my level and is endlessly supportive and patient when I make mistakes (often repeatedly) or struggle to express a certain concept.
The best part is: the lessons are genuinely fun! They are a good mix of conversation and structure, so it's never too repetitive, plus the conversation gives me heaps of practice to get the most out of what I've learned. Thank you Nanda, I look forward to our next lesson!

Nanda has been such a huge help to me. I feel like I’m finally making progress in my Spanish education! She makes the lessons fun while at the same time keeping me in line so I don’t form bad habits with grammar and pronunciation. I swear the hour lessons fly by! She also stays on me if I don’t schedule for a bit so that I don’t fall out of good habits of consistency which we all know is key. Thank you nanda!
