About Me
italki teacher since Oct 1, 2017
I have been working as a teacher in elementary school for 40 years, also as an independent French teacher for 25 years and for 3 years in italki. My students are French as well as foreigners and, according to their needs, I teach grammar, literature, vocabulary etc. I also teach methodology, a technical help for students to better understand their way of cognition and make them able to work independently and efficiently. I like sports, traveling, art and theatre… I have been hosting several students for 1 to 3 weeks to allow them to learn French as well as to discover the local culture. I recently retired, which allows me to be particularly flexible and available for my students.

This is my first time ever, after 446 completed lessons in multiple languages, leaving negative feedback. Danielle was late due to being unable to figure out connecting on Skype, even though I had connected with her there and tried to help her through italki messages. I would have let it go if she had been a good teacher or at least a nice person. She was rude and derogatory about me to another person in the room (I've been learning for three days). She had no idea how to teach me and seemed annoyed that I had booked with her. I filled out her contact sheet and said I didn't know any French, so it shouldn't have been a surprise. I've had italki lessons with nine other French teachers (yes in three days, I'm motivated), and they all knew what to do with a beginner. I was trying hard with Danielle, but she made it difficult by just speaking at me. She finally sent me pictures of food and had me read the page, smirking when I pronounced one wrong. Bizarre.
