Certified CILS teacher and CELI examiner. PhD in Classics, teacher of Latin and Ancient Greek. My name is Pietro. I studied Classics and have a PhD in Classical philology. I also worked as a researcher in Ancient Greek language and literature. At present I teach Italian, Latin and History in a high school. I also study Russian and Slavic languages and cultures. I specialise as a teacher and examiner of Italian as a foreign language (Università per stranieri di Siena, Università per stranieri di Perugia). I have lived abroad for some years and am currently based in Tuscany. I have a long experience in teaching Italian and classical languages. I worked at school, but also in adults and foreigners classes. This allowed me to know many types of learners and to make my teaching method flexible. Teaching method will depend on the type of student and on his preferences. As for classical languages, the approach will be rather theoretical and based on the knowledge of grammar. However, part of the lesson will be dedicated to practical activities, such as reading, translation, textual analysis. As for Italian, I follow a communicative approach based on the most recent language teaching methods. However, I will be very glad to satisfy students who want to learn more about grammar.
