Hi, I’m Nick.
I’m an English language teacher with over 20 years’ experience, specialising in IELTS speaking preparation. I’ve worked with a wide range of learners, helping them improve the clarity and effectiveness of their spoken English.
I’m a former IELTS speaking examiner, and I’ve worked for organisations including the British Council, International House, and the University of Sheffield. I also hold a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, as well as CELTA and DELTA qualifications.
Alongside teaching, I create a free IELTS podcast where I share practical insights into common problems and how to approach the test more effectively.Me as a Teacher
In lessons, I take a clear and focused approach, helping you improve your speaking in a practical way.
We work with IELTS-style questions so you can practise responding naturally. As you speak, I make notes on your language, your ideas, and how you develop your answers. We then go through this together, with clear and straightforward feedback on what to improve.
You’ll also receive written notes after each lesson, so you can review and continue working on key areas. My lessons & teaching style

For learners who want to improve fluency and express themselves more clearly. We focus on developing ideas, expanding vocabulary, and building confidence through structured discussion.
