たのしです！i am a super beginner, but sei was able to parse throughout our first hour where exactly i am in a detailed sense. she was very dynamic and adaptable, which is a quality not a lot of teachers have—some need to stick to the lesson plan regardless. already in the first hour i was really challenged & had the opportunity to make a lot of mistakes (and learn from them). she seemed to pick up easily on what to ask about next in order to teach me new grammar & i admired that she assigned homework, because i think i have to work really hard to get to the level of conversational that i want to be at in the time frame that i am hoping for. she wasn't at all afraid to correct me and was patient for me to try and solve things on my own, both of which are skills i appreciate, even though i have to swallow my sense of urgency and power through some embarrassing moments haha. どうもありがとうございました！

For my first introduction into Mandarin, Sei was awesome! She was patient and it was exceptionally informative. I was a little intimidated and apprehensive before the lesson, but Sei eased my mind and made me want to learn more. THAT is the difference between a teacher that merely dictates and a teacher that creates and nurtures an environment which is engaging & entertaining. It's no wonder why Sei has a 5 star rating.

Sometimes less is more. So, one word. Incredible!! Exception to the one word rule 🙂…Sei sensei is imo the standard on Italki. Just really fantastic. Japanese language is very challenging. I’m a biochemistry major, and 日本語 is many times more difficult. Yet, Sei sensei’s highly effective method of teaching such a difficult language, all while helping you feel encouraged, helps beginners (and I’m sure more advanced students) want to persevere through this challenging yet rewarding learning experience. Very Grateful 🙏

Thanks Sei-san for this very enjoyable lesson. I'm enjoying learning about the humble verbs and am looking forward to practicing reading more and more.
