About Me
italki teacher since May 28, 2018
I'm a college student with a love for language and culture. I love meeting new people and learning about everyone's unique way of life. Some of my hobbies are running, listening to music, and drawing. Studying foreign languages is my favorite hobby and I am passionate about teaching my native language. I think studying a foreign language is a difficult journey, but it is much more fun with friends to help you along the way. Let's learn English together!
Me as a Teacher
I have been taking language and linguistics classes for the last seven years with many different tutors, teachers, and professors, so I've learned a lot about what teaching styles are most effective. My first experience teaching English was with young children and I taught them through individualized speaking and reading practice. I then began my career as an Italki tutor, and I have been teaching on this website for three years now. I think that communication is the most important thing when learning a new language, so in classes, I love to check out and discuss together interesting methods of communication that we can learn from, such as articles, videos, paintings, and songs.
My lessons & teaching style
My goal is to help you achieve your goals! During our first lesson, we can discuss what aspects of learning English you would like to focus on and introduce ourselves to one another. I've noticed that many students would like to speak without the fear of making mistakes holding them back but would also like to improve their grammar and pronunciation. We can achieve both of these goals by having a relaxed and friendly conversation while I listen carefully to make sure that I understand what you are saying. If something doesn't make sense or is difficult to understand, we can stop and talk about the grammar, pronunciation, or other issues that might be causing misunderstanding.

Thanks a lot for your lesson. My daughter had a lot fun with you. Thank you for opening her up. She usually doesn’t talk that much when she first meet someone.

If you really want to improve you English, pronunciation, grammar, how to form sentences, this is the right teacher for you. Encourages you to speak and rephrases for you with generic American accent. Just wonderful. Effective teaching.

The conversation session went great. We discussed topics such as travelling, learning languages, cities and countries, and politics. Eliza is a very pleasant interlocutor.
