Hello! My name is Annie. I’m from Kunming, a city in Yunnan province, China. In 2015, I graduated from Nanjing University with a masters in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Since then, I've been teaching students of all ages beginner, intermediate, and advanced Chinese as part of a Mandarin school in Kunming, the Confucius Institute in Indonesia, and independently here on italki.
I've taught and gotten along well with students from all over the world, including the US, Russia, the UK, Italy, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand. I have greatly enjoyed meeting, teaching and helping them achieve their Chinese language goals and I look forward to doing the same with you!Me as a Teacher

Very good lesson this week with Annie. We've been doing vocabulary revision and also going through the HSK 2 workbook together which has been great to show what I know but also flag up grammar points I've forgotten or need to revisit.
Annie has been very flexible with the lessons particularly as my current schedule means I have less time to study. I'm very glad Annie centers the lessons around where I am with the learning, for example not pushing to move to HSK3 just because we finished the textbook and instead happy to still work on HSK2 areas, taking in consideration my slower pace of learning.

I really enjoyed Annie’s class today. We have been working on a full review of the Grammar points, starting from the beginning of HSK1 and working through HSK4. Annie and I discuss each grammar point, abbreviating the ones I already am familiar with, and then do a deep-dive into the ones where I have trouble. Annie then makes excellent homework assignment for me to do during the week that helps me to become more comfortable with using the grammar points.

Annie is a great teacher! She takes time to fully explain the answers to my questions and provides many examples. I have had many lessons with her, and I have never felt like she was unprepared. She has a good working knowledge of the HSK books and tests, so her lessons are targeted and useful. Before I started taking lessons with Annie, I had trouble holding even a basic conversation, and when I could, the topics I could talk about were quite limited. Now, I am able to confidently speak to natives, and even do things like order food over the phone using nothing but Chinese. I recommend Annie to my friends when they ask!
