About Me

I was born in Russia and later moved to Belarus. I studied and worked in China for 7 years, and have now lived in Japan for three years. I am trying to live a full and diverse life. I like cooking, planting flowers and veggies in my small garden, traveling, going to live concerts, visiting museums and galleries, skiing, and dancing.Me as a Teacher

I have an experience in studying many different foreign languages such as German, Chinese, English and currently Japanese. So I know how to learn a foreign language quickly and without big pressure. Besides, I have Master degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages and TORFL teacher certification.My lessons & teaching style
During teaching, I mostly focus on a speaking part, because I think, that the speaking is the most important of learning a foreign language. The first grammar must be studied along with speaking practice, otherwise it is useless. You must learn not just words, but phrases that can be used directly in a dialogue. Usually, students are good at reading and writing, but their speaking is always coming the last. Be ready not just listen to me, but talk with me, explain to me and enjoy our lesson. This was my first class with Anya and my first introduction to the Russian language. Anya thoroughly explained how she would be teaching me Russian, asked what my goals were so she could accommodate them, and began with pronunciation of the alphabet. She was very encouraging, which was really nice to help me feel comfortable as a total beginner :) I look forward to my journey learning Russian with Anya from now!
