I’ve run a small business for 10+ years. I’m also a YouTuber, Chinese tutor, freelance writer and illustrator.👩🏻🎨
I teach real-life conversational Chinese — how Chinese people think, talk, and express ideas — with a cross-cultural approach that’s especially helpful for Western learners.

I started teaching on italki in early 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic when I was quarantined at home. Italki quickly became a special part of my life, connecting me with amazing students around the world. During those challenging times, teaching and communicating with my students brought great joy and comfort to me. Even after COVID, the meaningful bonds I've formed with my students continue to inspire me every day.
I strongly believe that helping others overcome their challenges is one of the best ways to empower ourselves. Or as we say in Chinese:
