About Me

I have been living in Paris for over three years now. I taught English to French children in middle and high school, and French to newly arrived refugees.
I am pursuing a master's in Linguistics and Computer Science here in Paris.
I have also taught kindergarten in Los Angeles and tutored students throughout high school. I have a TESOL certification and have been on Italki for about five years.
I am very patient and will encourage you to speak, I find that it is the best way to learn. You can learn anything you want with practice and I hope you will consider me to help you reach your language goals; we'll laugh and learn together! My lessons & teaching style
I've used Italki to practice Spanish and Chinese and found that informal conversation has helped me the most! I know that it can be scary, especially the first lesson, but it gets easier!
In conversation lessons, we can talk about topics like travel, films, and music. We can have debates, practice job interviews, slang, or anything you are interested in!
I can be a casual speaking partner with a low-pressure, non-judgmental, and informal nature or, if you prefer, we can have more structured and prepared lessons focused on improving your weaknesses in English or French. Jourdan is a very supportive French teacher. I typically get feedback from her during the class and additional feedback in writing from her after the class is finished. I truly enjoy her teaching style and because she's an English speaker she's great at helping me understand how French and English differ. I higly recommend her as a French teacher.
