I discovered my love of pottery in the coastal city of Durban while studying Fine Art. I then moved to the countryside to work in a pottery studio, and enjoyed learning to communicate with the other artists who spoke English as a second language. After completing my CELTA I moved to Cape Town, where I taught English at two language schools. After that, I worked in the touristy suburb of Observatory, before becoming a store manager on famous Long Street where I met people from all over the world. I am a creative, friendly, patient, encouraging and caring young lady who is eager to help. I understand that everyone learns very differently, so I customize my lessons based on the individual learning style of my students. I like to make my lessons fun and interesting, so I create lessons based on my student's individual interests while I teach. I teach all areas of English to beginner, elementary and intermediate levels. I also specialize in teaching vocabulary to the more advanced learners. In my first lesson, I do a little test to determine the level of the learner, before adapting my lessons to a pace and style that the student is comfortable with. I use as much creativity as possible - ranging from visual aids such as short videos with discussions, to custom-designed games.Of course, there will be various assignments and tests to keep students on track. I focus on teaching the basic skills of listening, reading, writing, speaking, grammar and vocabulary.
