A Toronto native with Uruguayan roots, I bring 17 years of teaching experience and a global perspective shaped by over 10 years of living abroad in Japan and Korea, I support learners of all ages in achieving their English goals through engaging, communication-focused lessons. I specialize in conversational English and test preparation (IELTS, Cambridge), helping students reach target scores. My approach emphasizes active participation, cultural relevance, and real-world application.
I am an EAL facilitator focused on helping students reach their English goals, with 16 years of teaching experience and engaging in ongoing professional development. I have taught in universities in Japan and Canada, and spent 4 years teaching in Korea. I have taught students from all age groups and various levels of English proficiency. I am experienced in designing curricula and courses, including designing and implementing programs for universities. Furthermore, I have experience helping students prepare for English proficiency tests. I have also taught Business English classes in Toronto, and had worked for a mutual fund company.
I have and continue to teach a multitude of different English language classes using culturally relevant strategies. I have and continue to cover all 4 of the major language skills plus grammar, as well as teach IELTS, TOEFL and TOEIC prep classes, and have effectively helped students achieve their desired scores on these tests.
