Hello, I'm Jake from Canada. I have lived in Canada, USA, UK, China (Beijing & Shanghai), Taiwan, Korea, Czech Republic, and Thailand.
I have traveled to more then 30 countries across North America, Europe, and Asia. Currently living in Shanghai as a full time English teacher. I love traveling, meeting, and talking with people. My students say I'm a good teacher because of my personality. I'm warm, positive, patient, and friendly. If your a shy student, then you'll do well with me as I'm good at 'bringing people out of their shell'. I'm studying Chinese so I know what your going through and how to help. I've studied more then 5 languages while living abroad.

As your teacher, I will build an atmosphere in our class where your comfortable to make mistakes. The more comfortable you are, the more you talk and this helps me to identify how to best help you! I'm a student studying Chinese so I know how you feel and I can relate. That's part of why my students love my class.
I work a lot with kids and know how to get them interested in learning English! I have incorporated English learning into many fun activities for them!
I love traveling and meeting people from abroad. This combined with my friendly personality got me into teaching. I just finished my masters degree and want to do my Ph.D to become a university economics professor in the future. My lessons & teaching style
I want you to speak as much as possible. I will identify your weaknesses, make recommendations and if you agree then we will focus on those for improve. So each students class is different.
Children's classes can focus on phonics, reading, speaking, or listening.
I will take notes for you and provide them at the end of each lesson. Most importantly, I know my classes are not cheap which is why I provide out of class support. Just message and ask anytime!
I believe in the PPP (Present, Practice, and Produce) teaching methodology. This style is to introduce you to new material, practice it with you, and have you use it to demonstrate you comprehend how to correctly use it.My teaching material
