My name is Romann Taylor and I like talking about music/musicians, health, video games, movies, travel, etc. My hobbies include powerlifting, hiking, cooking, eating, movies, etc. I have traveled to San Jose and Quepos in Costa Rica and spent many years on Indian Reservations as well as many big cities here in America.Me as a Teacher
I have recently received my 160 hours TEFL/TESL certification, but all my life I have enjoyed learning about other cultures. In my current job of working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, I have learned patience, the importance of being creative and attentive. Within this setting, I am currently teaching a music class and a math class that includes beginner to intermediate levels that include teaching balancing of checkbooks/accounts/savings and other life skills involved in spending, saving funds for whatever they may want in the future. Seeing the positive, perpetual response I get from these classes, has aided in my resolution to teach.My lessons & teaching style
Once assessed (getting to know you, your level of English, speaking/understanding) I can help with getting a plan for your continued growth in learning to speak the language in any setting. Grammar, vocabulary, lots of conversation, and context for understanding will be practiced. I want you to feel like you can take your time, and move at a comfortable pace. I want you to do your best, and never give up, we learn from our mistakes, they don't define us. And do have lots fun, I love fun and know that it is the best environment to learn in, and breeds positivity, and a sense of confidence.My teaching material

Direct Support ProfessionalSpecial needs require patience and creativity. I have a beginner to intermediate math class going, as well as a music class for any level. We are also required by State to have training on sensitivity, teaching life lessons, teaching and supporting goals they have, overall health, and self-advocacy amongst other things. Creativity is needed for this, the individuals differ in education/comprehension levels, and then you have to find the best way to communicate to help them understand.
