About Me

Hi! My name is Johanna. I'm from Germany and have lived both in Germany and the USA (currently Germany). In my free time I love to read, spend time with my family and friends, and occasionally play video games. I love traveling and getting to know different cultures while exploring the beauty of this planet. Ich freue mich darauf, dich/Sie kennenzulernen! (I'm looking forward to meeting you!)

Me as a Teacher

I have taught German in language classes for refugees as well as university students and in schools in Germany and the USA. The students were between six and 50+ years old and came from various backgrounds.

My lessons & teaching style

It is important to me that you learn a lot in my class AND have fun doing it! In my opinion, mistakes are nothing to fear - they give you the opportunity to learn and extend your knowledge of that language! In the lessons with me you will learn more about German orthography, grammar, and vocabulary as well as improve your speaking skills and listening comprehension - with a smile on your lips! :)

I couldn't ask any better for the first lesson with Johanna. We decided in advanced the topic of our conversation according to my needs and we practiced it during the lesson. She is highly professional, well prepared and the lesson was fun, enjoyable and nevertheless really helpful for getting confidence in German. I am already looking forward for the next session with her! Absolutely highly recommended to everyone!

Always good, she is super attentive in correcting me and giving me examples. She makes me working and thinking, asking me to correct by myself the errors i make, and always coming with some material to either discuss or exercises to practice
