Hi! Hola! I’m a TEFL-certified English Teacher currently based in Canada. I’m British-born, a Canadian citizen, a mom of 2, and a fourth-year university student working toward becoming a certified in-person teacher here as well. I study Sociology and Political Science with a minor in East Asian Studies. I taught on italki between 2018-2024, and now I'm back! I’m very involved in my community. I work as an event coordinator for cultural festivals and community organizations, as well as my own walking group for newcomers.
www.culturalcuriosity.ca I have a blog where I post occasionally, and my students have added posts too! I used to post English content on my Instagram and podcast.
I want you to be comfortable and at ease. This will help you talk better, if you are nervous you will make more mistakes. You are welcome to ask me any questions as it is important to build trust between teacher/student, and I will be asking you lots of questions myself. I am here to build your confidence, but please remember if you are serious about improving, you need to study at home outside of lessons.
You must give 24 hours notice to reschedule/cancel the lesson.
In my lessons I want to get you talking as much as possible, while also trying to provide you with a challenge in talking about some topical and difficult subjects. I usually provide some material to do this with, either before or in class, such as news articles and videos. I am here to correct your mistakes and give ALL my students ...My teaching material

Speaking in English usually makes me quite anxious, but when I talk with Rebecca I almost forget that I’m not speaking my native language! Our conversations are always engaging and cover many different topics. She makes me feel comfortable and confident while speaking :))
