Teacher with 40 years' experience. Specialist in teaching adults at intermediate level or above. I'm originally from London but started travelling as soon as I could. I’ve lived and worked in the UK, Greece, the UAE, and Japan. I’m currently based in Singapore, where I moved in August 2024. Apart from travelling, cooking is one of my great passions. I love discovering new ingredients and different ways of using them and of course, eating the fruits of my labour! I’m a native English speaker and qualified teacher with many years’ experience teaching in England and abroad. I have a BA, Postgraduate Teaching Certificate and TESOL qualification. I originally trained in Special Education and so I’m sensitive to the needs of each of my students. I’m good at explaining things in simple terms, reinforcing what a student has learnt and working at a pace that’s comfortable for them. My lessons are personalised, which means they are specially designed for you, based on your English language level, goals and interests. In our first lesson, we will spend time getting to know each other. I will listen carefully to you to gain an understanding of your current language skills, your goals, interests and what you would like to focus on in our lessons. I will suggest activities that will help you to develop your skills further, and together we will agree on an individualised programme for you.
