InterestsFoodArtTravel
My name is Ida and I am from Vienna, Austria.
I went to a vocational school for design and studied architecture. I have a lot of interests and a good general knowledge. I’m also interested in learning something new and broaden my mind.
I love Japan and its culture that’s why I started learning Japanese although learning a language is one of the hardest things for me. So I’m sometimes struggling and feel frustrated when I can’t bring myself to say something in a foreign language out loud although it’s already in my head. That’s why I know how it feels to be on the student’s side.
If you need an understanding, friendly and patient conversation partner, I’m the right one for you.

Me as a Teacher
Although I am from Austria, I usually speak accent-free standard German (see video) but of course, I also know how to speak Austrian German and especially Viennese, too. I learned English for 10 years in school and I’ve been learning Japanese for 5 years.
I’m helping others – mainly Japanese – with their German since 2013. Therefore I was able to get an insight into what people who learn German struggle with. I even created a website to practice German especially tailored to fix these problems.
I might not look like it but I’m already in my 30s, so if you are looking for a more mature conversation partner, then I’m the right one for you.
My lessons & teaching style
I’m offering formal or casual conversation practice. But I will adapt to your needs (speed of speech, choice of words, etc). So if you want to go through a lesson in your textbook or want to read and discuss articles together, that’s fine with me, too. I can also help you with writing formal letters and e-mails or find information about Austria.
What I can offer:
1. casual conversation (colloquial language, “du”)
2. formal conversation (formal language, “Sie”)
3. correction of grammar and pronunciation
4. correction of unnatural expressions and sentences structures
5. question-and-answer
6. solving tasks from your textbook
7. support in writing formal letters

Ida unterstützt mich mit Herz und Geduld. Ich glaube nicht, dass ich die "ups and downs" des Deutschlernens und der Anpassung in Europa ohne sie überleben kann. Danke, Ida. Du bist die Beste und ich schätze dich sehr.

Ida is very supportive. I'm quite slow in talking, and she corrects my sentences with patience and precision. Finally, I can say that again with no mistakes! Thanks, Ida.

Very patient. If not understood, she calmly repeats the topics several times.
