Hi, I'm Heike. I’ve been teaching German online since 2016, and what I enjoy most is that moment when something suddenly clicks and learners realise: “I can actually do this.” I work with all levels, but I have a soft spot for beginners.
I hold a Magistra Artium in Ethnology, Archaeology & Sociology, and yes, I worked as an archaeologist in Peru. That background shapes how I teach: language is not just grammar, but culture, history and people.
In my lessons, you speak from day one. We work with real-life situations and build your confidence step by step. A shared Google Doc keeps everything in one place. For grammar, I use Deutschfuchs. Homework is optional, but it really helps.

Tengo una Magistra Artium en Etnología, Arqueología y Sociología, y sí, trabajé como arqueóloga en Perú. Esa experiencia define mi enfoque: el idioma no es solo gramática, sino cultura, historia y personas.
En mis clases hablas desde el primer día. Trabajamos con situaciones reales y construimos tu confianza paso a paso. Un Google Doc compartido lo guarda todo. Para la gramática uso Deutschfuchs. Explico con claridad, hago las preguntas adecuadas y doy feedback honesto. Los deberes son opcionales, pero ayudan de verdad.My teaching material

I have had German lessons with Heike over an extended period and have enjoyed and profited from the experience very much. She is patient and supportive, while also giving constructive feedback. The mood in the sessions is relaxed, but there is a clear focus on learning. As someone who has learned several languages herself, Heike has appreciation for the hurdles we face as language learners. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for quality German instruction.
