I have my Master’s degree in English Writing and my Bachelor’s degree in English Education. I taught over 12 years in U.S. schools and have experience with English-language learners. My husband and I have been teaching online full time for the past 4 years to students from Brazil, Chile, China, Korea, Germany, France, and Russia. Currently, we live in Mexico and understand the challenges of learning a new language. For this reason, I am patient in my explanations and focus on real-world communication. The majority of my students are professionals looking to improve their speaking for business and/or travel. I also have a few specialized writing students.My lessons & teaching style
The goal for all lessons is to improve your confidence and clarity when speaking. The more you talk, the quicker you improve! My lessons are interactive with grammar explanations given as needed. Lesson formats may include discussing current issues, role-playing everyday situations, writing descriptions, or creating examples of difficult sentence structures. It was so nice to talk to Alicia. She designed the lesson with a focus on speaking which I wanted to improve. Especially, role playing we did was really helpful for me.
