Hello and Oi. I am from beautiful New Zealand. I love meeting new people and making them feel welcome and comfortable with me. English is my native language, and Brazilian Portuguese is my adopted language. Olá. Sou da Nova Zelandia, onde fala inglês, e o português é a minha lingua adotiva. Gosto de conhecer pessoas novas e ajudar-las a se sentir bem comigo.
I have lived in a few different countries, but mainly in Brazil and I spent a year in Mozambique where Portuguese is also spoken. I can also understand and speak South American Spanish.Me as a Teacher
Students from different countries tell me I am easy to understand and I am very patient. Every student is different and unique and so every lesson I give is different too. I enjoy teaching from beginner to intermediate level English and beginner to elementary level Portuguese.My lessons & teaching style
In my lessons I provide plenty of opportunity for conversation. From your very first lesson, as we talk I listen closely for the areas you are having trouble with so that I can direct the learning to help you improve. If you have something specific you want to learn, we will work on that and I have topics and ideas available too so that you are fully engaged in the lesson.
in English I especially like to teach phrasal verbs, idioms and language chunks as these help you sound more natural. Commonly confused words are fun too, , such as the difference between say, tell, speak and talk.

Sole ProprietorMy own business teaching English to small groups, mainly face to face and individuals, mainly online via Skype and Zoom. In 2018 I began teaching Portuguese to English speakers.
2015 - 2017
Relevant part-time roles- 2015-2016 I volunteered at Wharenui Primary with children learning to read, many were ESOL students.
- 2015 taught English for a few months to a Brazilian family who arrived in New Zealand with zero English.
- 2017 I taught a weekly English class for a mixed-level group of Chinese parents who are in New Zealand while their children attend Middleton Grange International College.
All these experiences have helped me be flexible and creative and adaptive in my teaching approach.
