About Me

My name is Ashley and I'm a teacher with Italki. I grew up in Boise, Idaho but have been living in New York City for the past 6 years. I've also lived abroad in Calabria, Italy.
Aside from English, I speak Spanish and Italian. Though I don't speak the Calabrese dialect, I can understand Calabrese as well.
I enjoy cooking, reading, writing, riding horses, and traveling.Me as a Teacher
I learned both Spanish and Italian as an adult, so I know how challenging learning a new language can be.
Because of these experiences, I have developed many techniques to help my students learn quickly and effectively.
Teaching has always been my passion and I'm happy to say I've been teaching for over 10 years. I've taught both children and adults in groups or one on one. I hold a Bachelor's degree in the Spanish language as well as a TEFL Certification. I specialize in teaching Business English, Young Learners, as well as IELTS and TOEIC preparation.
I've taught English in my hometown, as well as New York, and Italy. My lessons & teaching style
Every student is different and learns in their own way. I tailor my lessons to the student's learning style by using a mix of visuals, reading materials, and conversational techniques. My problems when dealing with the test are mainly about grammar and strategy for answer. Teacher Ashley not only help me identify my problems but also give me advice on how to improve my performance.
