My interest is in starting a dialogue between cultures. I love travel, history, art, and trying new cuisines! I’m genuinely interested in communicating and exchanging ideas, which is the essence of language learning. I am from the USA but have previously lived in Germany, England, Peru, and China—all experiences that I have found both thrilling and enlightening. I revel in starting a dialogue with my students, in which we communicate and learn from one another. I have lived on 4 continents and counting. My passion for learning about other cultures has led me to a career in teaching around the world and I’ve never looked back. Before this, I worked for a small consulting firm that specializes in globally distributed teams in large multinational companies. My job consisted of co-facilitating workshops on concepts of workplace dynamics and cross-cultural communication to those who are unfamiliar with them. There was, of course, a strong pedagogical component. The aspect of my job I enjoyed most was dealing with different cultures in international business. I have taught classes of all age groups, from absolute beginner to advanced, in general and business English as well as in subjects ranging from art and history to business etiquette.
