Glauber Leal

I really love having Glauber as a teacher! We initially had some classes based materials he prepared, which I wasn't accustomed to and met with slight internal resistance (imagining that the best thing and most fun way to learn Portuguese from Spanish was organically, through conversation), but the materials were all really well put together and contained much vocabulary and syntax relevant for a beginner, while also facilitating conversation, so I ended up really enjoying them! Recently, though, we've only been conversing, and it's been such a great time - I'm sure anyone would like him, but especially if you like I share some of his interests; we've mostly been talking about music, film, literature, but I'm sure we've other things in common that we've simply not gotten around to. His perspectives on these things, and life generally, are very well-formed and conducive to stimulating conversation. Highly recommended!

We had a great first class together! I felt comfortable as the energy to the class was very relaxed and inspired confidence. I especially appreciated the readiness of the instructor when the Italki platform failed us and we couldn’t hear each other on the platform, the instructor was quickly prepared with a solution, we were able to pivot in a matter of seconds and I didn’t have to lose valuable time as a student. These type of actions go a long way when technology fails while one is in the flow of things and making a great effort to learn. I really look forward to our next conversation session!
