Hi everybody. I am Meltem. I am a native speaker I live in İstanbul. I enjoy meeting new people, learning about different cultures. I am happy to help who is interested in learning Turkish whether it is just for cultural interest or for work/ studies.
→I kindly ask all my new and old students to pay attention to these points.
1-Lessons that are not canceled or changed 24 hours in advance cannot be postponed to a different day and unfortunately, no refunds are made.
2-Share the given homework with me 3 days in advance.
3-Give the class confirmation immediately after the class is over.
4-Keep the Italki/Skype notifications open where we will be doing our class.
5-Attend class on time.Me as a Teacher
I have been teaching for 10 years. I would be pleased to help ones who are interested in Turkısh and also I enjoy working with students from all part of the world who have different stories and experiences. Talking about my teaching technique, as every student is different.
I encourage my students to speak as much as possible and get confident in doing so.I understand some of the difficulties a student may experience whilst learn a new language as I have experienced these difficulties too. I would like our classes to be placed where you feel comfortable to try to speak and safe to make mistakes because that is the best way to learn,I think one of the hardest, but most important things When you are learning a new language is to practice speaking so I like to give classes in conversational Turkısh If there are specific things you would improve in, for example, If you would like to correct your grammar I can help you.I will teach Turkısh the way you would use it naturally in a conversation.I focus on verbs and idioms If they are useful and common.I will make you confident at speaking Turkısh.My teaching material

Meltem is a fantastic teacher! She is always patient with me and I can tell she actually cares. She is always on time, reviews homework very quickly, and is keen to answer any questions I might have (even about Turkish culture!).
I also really enjoy that we have frank, open conversations about real topics: education, housing, war, religion, etc. It is very interesting to share our thoughts with such a great distance & cultural gap between us.
I am thankful to have found such a great teacher so quickly. If I had not, I might have quit. So thank you Meltem! Sen en iyisin!

I have weekly Turkish conversation lessons with Meltem. The lessons are always fun, informative and motivating and the topics she picks for discussion are interesting and stretching; focussing on different lexical areas each week. She is quick to correct my mistakes and offers easy explanations. But most of all, her charming manner and easy smile create an engaging atmosphere in the virtual classroom, meaning the lessons are a highlight of the week and always somthing to look forward to.

Over the past couple of weeks, my two teenagers have been taking Turkish lessons with Meltem, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. En el tıempo que llevo con Meltem he aprendido a leer textos y a entenderlos, no solo he aprendido el idioma también aprendo de la cultura Turca. Meltem es una gran maestra, tiene un excelente método de enseñanza.
