I help students gain real confidence in speaking English for travel, work, and everyday life. I adjust my teaching style and teaching material to fit the needs of the individual student. I have specialised in English teaching at top high schools. Learning English is fascinating and fun for people of all ages. I have taught English to adults and middle school students in Tokyo; in Cape Town I have taught middle and high school students up to university entrance level. I am able to help learners with individual problems and I know how to encourage and coach them, as I have 30 years experience doing this. I have a wide knowledge of the world, having travelled in the USA, UK and Asia. I regard it as a great privilege to share my love for language and to encourage others in their learning. My lessons are not one-size-fits-all. With over 20 years experience, I adjust my teaching style and teaching material to fit the needs of the individual student. Sometimes explanation is necessary, but I use a variety of things such as games, notes, playing roles, repetition and practice , with practical advice on how to expand your English opportunities.
